Hearken unto a requiem for a hero fallen. A man who lived a thousand thousand of our lives clinging desperately to faint hope, never shirking his sworn duty to his long-lost brethren. A man who stood proud and did avow his true name on the threshold of the battle that would see him fall to his rival─the light to quench his shadow. Borrowing liberally from the funereal rites of the Night’s Blessed, the minstreling wanderer weaves an elegy in that hero’s honor─the tragic-yet-triumphant tale of a man and a battle that ne’er shall be forgotten.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers – Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty

With past extreme trials, I write them along with their normal mode and edit it later to include the extreme version of the fight but I have written about the normal mode in another article which you can find here: Amaurot The Dying.

The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hades’s Elegy

If I had to sum up this battle in a couple of words it would be this – its a heck of a long fight but it was quite bittersweet with how it ends. Much like Thordan Extreme, this fight relies on the add phase to be the hardest part with the bit before it being the introduction to the fight.

Sadly compared to Thordon and Shinryu this fight is far easier with the only tricky part being the third part of the add phase which involves positioning which has to be planned in advance.

While I could comment on the music and the overall visual design of this fight I do believe I have already spoken about it in the past article but this fight is an enjoyable fight but sadly not really that hard.

I am not sure if it is due to mechanics are recycled due to the nature of an MMO but it is sad to see that extreme trials are slowly going becoming as hard as a normal story trial.

Still, it was a fun fight but nothing on the level of Thordon or Shinryu in terms of how hard it was. Sadly it is unlikely I will farm Hades but the weapons themselves don’t look that bad!
